Beta read at best. This is a self published work that could have benefited from an editor. The story is uneven and a lot of "poor pitiful me" with a lot of profanity sprinkled throughout. It is a story of (I presume) the author born with a cleft lip and her journey from "eat shit and die" birth to awkward teen love and a mixed tape. The text is a series of paragraphs loosely linked by time. It isn't so much a story as a stream of consciousness. There are a ton of data that makes it easy to find Beta read at best. There are a ton of data that makes it easy to find this person and all her family in real life (yikes) but it is also a story that does a lot of telling, summarizing, and skipping. The sad part is I can see how this might be an interesting fiction novel. The house fire, almost drowning because mom was flirting. The campout and getting stung after a disastrous trip to the latrine. A Scene right out of Harry Potter where she meets an angel and is sent back to earth. Did I mention she had Serious Mom issues? And apparently a death wish. But there is too much telling and barely any story. The book is an outline waiting to be filled in.
In the end, yay, you self published a book. But boy howdy this novella (it is very short, read and marked up the text in under an hour) needs work. I received a copy to review from a friend. And she wanted my honest opinion. My opinion is save your money, and wait for this young writer to gain some more experience and maybe an editor or beta reader or two. ...more

Amazing book! The author takes on an incredible journey from birth to middle school with so much fun and a little bit of fantasy mixed in between. Her life is so incredibly interesting and the way she transports the reader back to the 90s makes it even more fun. I loved this book so much and I can't wait to read more from this author!!!!

Love love love this book! I read it like 5x already! It's so funny and heart warming! I can't wait until they make it a movie! And I want a sequel!!!!
